Report Glossary
Understanding every term and technical marker in your Updated HPI Gold Report.
Category S (Cat S)
Structural damage. The vehicle has sustained damage to its structural frame/chassis but is repairable.
Category N (Cat N)
Non-structural damage. The vehicle has sustained technical or aesthetic damage but the chassis remains intact.
Outstanding Finance
A marker indicating the vehicle is still owned by a bank or dealer until the final payment is cleared.
Mileage Clocking
A discrepancy where the odometer reading has been illegally reduced to increase vehicle value.
PNC Marker
Police National Computer record. Indicates if the vehicle is currently flagged as stolen or involved in crime.
VIN Discrepancy
When the physical Vehicle Identification Number doesn't match the government database records.
